The Ten Best Fantasy Books of All Time
Extract of the original article
Two books that easily came to mind and are easily the best fantasy books ever written are The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J. R. R. Tolkien and the Harry Potter series by J. K Rowling. The Hobbit by Tolkien also made the list because of how good of a book it is. These books shaped the way we view fantasy novels and created two fantasy worlds that are well-known by billions of people all over the world!
The next group of books on this list is books that are inspired by Tolkien but have a darker, grimy twist on the genre. These books are A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin, The Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks, and the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson.
Lastly, the list includes classics like His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, and The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. These two novels are beautifully written and they swallow you in their magical worlds. Gaiman has written some of the best fantasy books in the past few decades and while a couple of his books could have made the list, The Graveyard Book is befitting of this honor.
